Emmett Hall Memorial Lectureship
The Emmett Hall Memorial Lectureship is one of Canada’s most prestigious honours in the field of health systems and policy, celebrating the enduring legacy of Justice Emmett Hall, the father of Canadian Medicare. The Lectureship recognizes individuals whose leadership and contributions reflect Hall’s vision and values in advancing Canada’s health system.
Each year, the Justice Emmett Hall Memorial Foundation selects a Hall Laureate who delivers the annual Hall Lecture at the Canadian Association for Health Services and Policy Research (CAHSPR) conference. This high-profile plenary brings together health system leaders, researchers, and policymakers from across the country. A video recording of the lecture is later shared on the Hall Foundation website.
The Hall Laureate receives a $5,000 award and travel support to attend the CAHSPR conference.
